Leading Organizational Change

Are you willing to make a change in your organization? Are you willing to accept the responsibilities? Are you willing to go beyond the call of duty? Is it time to exceed beyond expectations you had for yourself? In my case, the answer is yes! Throughout time, I have seen myself as a leader through the actions and responses of others within society. This calling is inevitable, and I must have the necessary tools syndicate with natural abilities to make every decision and action count towards an organizational transformation.

The knowledge I’ve obtained thus far is forever life changing. True experts that have perfected their craft has given me a major confident as well as knowledge boost. These experts specialize in changing human behavior by creating step by step systems that will give any leader a fighting chance to aid in excelling their organization.

For starters, Simon Sinek’s insight of “WHY” is an absolute game changer. The theme revolves around, “people don’t buy what you do, they buy why you do it.” As an educator, we have multiple jobs throughout the duration of the day. Some methods of teaching are redundant and replacing such tasks with an up to date method of teaching/learning can help our students get past the traditional way of learning with an updated form of teaching. This transfers to my WHY. Why do I believe in this blended learning approach?  Why should you?  Check out my WHY.

You may wonder, who are my influencers? A few names come to mind. Through the guidance of Kerry Patterson, Ron McMillan, David Maxfield, joseph Grenny and Al Switzler, I have industrialized an Influencer plan.  Influencer is the title of their book which should be on the desk of every educator. Their extensive research has granted me the opportunity to mirror and model what has been interpreted from their studies. I intend to use this plan in preparation of launching my innovative plan within my department. This book granted me much needed insight that will grant me a leadership role within the classroom and department. I’ve accumulated a lot of knowledge that will help me inside and outside the classroom as well. My vision is far sharper than it was before. Behavior change is the hardest to create and Influencer aids in making this impossible task more possible than one could hope for. Check out this interesting concept in the short video below:

Chris McChesney, Sean Covey and Jim Huling furthered my perception with an intrinsic approach for implementing change in their book, The 4 Disciplines of Execution. What I’ve accumulated from this book is beyond belief. I invite you to read more about the specifics of the 4 disciplines and the 5 steps in my 4DX plan

Wait, there’s another book. Crucial conversations by Joseph Grenny, McMillan, Patterson and Switzler from Influencer. Change often requires having some seriously high stakes conversations with influential decision makers. This book will grant readers with vital information to make such a task a reality. If you want to really make a change and it’s meaningful from the heart, Crucial conversations will be the pinnacle of that success. Some people have a hard time around this area and this video will give insight towards the concept.  helps me prepare and anticipate my reaction, working around it to maintain a safe, open discussion with others. Find out more in this helpful video and in my observation page below:

It’s comes naturally for some yet others must work towards this trait. Each day I’m blessed to wake up and witness another day grants me an opportunity to become a better leader.
